Challenges

In an effort to help me learn and remember the processes of posting

I have been challenged by one of my daughters, Kathryn, to post 

for seven consecutive days.

A challenge is certainly a great motivator to do something.

So here is post number 2

From when the weather was much cooler

In My Garden

In an effort to become more computer comfortable I am going to blog more.

Today is my new beginning and I have chosen a subject close to my heart-My Garden

Here are some photos I took earlier today of some special beauties.

The Bergonia disappeared after flowering and I just tucked the pot out of the way.

Much later needing a pot for something else I thought that the old begonia pot would be perfect

only to discover that the plant was re-emerging.

Here it is beginning to flower-what a treat.

The Elephant Ear was another 'find'. This time in the garden. They were everywhere and so I neglected them and they disappear.

When they poked their heads back up I placed them in pots. This one just took off and now it is flowering.

Their fragrance is beautifully delicate and floats in the breeze.

                              YEAH for Me!!

       

This is a celebration of my new sewing space

It’s been a long time since the last time that I have sewn anything for myself that fit properly. It was a great feeling to complete this dress and to be satisfied with the result.

Now I just need some warm weather to wear it and I’ll be right.

I must thank my family for their support and encouragement.

Next step the long list from my daughters and then maybe even the male members of our family.

How Delicate!

How delicate life is

A delicate web of simplicity that gives meaning to the many tasks we do

Yet we seldom stop to appreciate them

Until the day that they are gone

Next time you have a chance to say something nice

Don't question whether you should or shouldn't

Its one of the little things that will lift someone

And without which life becomes dense and heavy

Not light and joyful

Appreciate the first ray of light in the morning

The kiss goodmorning from someone you love

The compliment from a friend

The smile from a stranger

The wayward toungue of you pet

These are the delicate lacework of life

That fill our hearts

And give us strength to live

Don't wait till its gone before you recognise it

As you are touched gently by life

Enjoy it and pass it on

It won't stop the missing 

But the memory will help the healing

Longing

Watching the last of the sun's light reflect on the ocean her thoughts turned to home. 

It seemed like such a long time since she had left her children to embark on this journey. 

Then it had felt like the right thing to do to resolve the dispute.

But now the longing for little ones overwhelmed her as the darkness engulfed the world.

Help is always with you

Asking for it does not bring it to you

It makes it aware of its presence

Perfection

 Let go of your idea of perfection, for it does not exist 

True perfection is whatever you achieve 

Because it is what you are capable of at any one moment

This is what gives you confidence to improve 

This is what breaks down the crippling grip of fear
